I once went diving with Tiger Sharks in South Africa. There was no cage – just me, a mask and snorkel, and three Tiger sharks (and also about 50 reef sharks below us).

The sharks were 3.5 metres long and we had had to travel 8km out to sea to find them. We attracted them in with some chum and effectively had to get into the water with them during feeding time – Yes feeding time!!!

After the nerves had gone and the sharks had got used to us, one of the sharks swam right up to me and allowed me to stroke it from its head to its tail – it was a pretty cool moment!!!

The dive master got an underwater photo of me stroking the shark – The photo was that good that it actually got put into the National Geographic magazine and was published to the world

I still have the original photo slides if anyone wants proof that I actually did swim with Tiger sharks ☺
