Businesses on Kernick Industrial Estate now have access to a defibrillator thanks to one of Cornwall’s leading heating, plumbing and electrical companies.
Blue Flame Heating, which is based on the estate, funded the installation of the defibrillator after holding a yard sale to sell old stock.
The defibrillator has been supplied by St Austell-based training provider, Cornwall Training and Consultancy, and installed at Blue Flame’s offices by the company’s electrical team.
Paul Smith, training and development director, said: “Kernick is an important economic asset for the area, as well as Cornwall, so we felt it was important to have something that can save time and save lives if an emergency does arise.
“We’re really grateful to everyone who supported the yard sale and bought old stock from us.”
Blue Flame hosted a training session at its offices on Tuesday, June 26, for 20 local business people.
Paul added: “Hopefully it won’t be needed, however, it provides reassurance to all businesses on Kernick should someone need help.”
Paul Smith was joined in unveiling the defibrillator by Steve Matthews from South West Ambulance Service.
