Businesses on Kernick Industrial Estate will now have access to a defibrillator thanks to amazing customers who turned out in force for our recent yard sale.
We raised the money for the equipment after holding a yard sale to sell old stock on Saturday, April 7.
The sale, which raised £2,470, was part of a series of events we’re holding this year to celebrate 30 years in business.
Our marketing co-ordinator, Jess Bolitho, who organised the event, said: “The event was a real success. We had lots of people turn up and make purchases and I think we managed to sell at least 75 pecent of the items we had.
“It was amazing how many people came during the day looking for bargains for their homes or business.
“We’ve even had people calling this week to buy some more of the bits and pieces that were left over.”
The defibrillator will be situated at Blue Flame HQ and we will be organising training for other businesses on Kernick Industrial Estate.
Paul Smith, training and development director, said: “We have spoken with other businesses on the estate about having a defibrillator, so it’s great to able to support everyone by installing this vital, life-saving piece of equipment.
“Kernick is an important economic asset for the area, as well as Cornwall, so we felt it was important to have something that can save time and save lives if an emergency does arise.”
As well as the defibrillator, the remaining monies will go towards the £5,000 target we’re aiming to raise for Children’s Hospice South West this year.
We’re going to achieve this by hosting a series of events for staff and customers. Stay tuned for more details!
